Dear Families,
Effective Monday, November 30th the Dixon R-I School District will require masking for all students, staff, and visitors based on guidance from the governor, DHSS, and DESE. Across the state extraordinary numbers of students are being quarantined. DESE and DHSS have examined options used in other states to safely reduce quarantine numbers without increasing positive cases. Guidance on close contacts and quarantining has been
modified for school contacts only:
Schools who have mask requirements approved by the local health departments and require
individuals to properly use masks will NOT be required to quarantine individuals who are not
symptomatic.
Social distancing and good hand washing practices will continue to be used. Please send your child to school with two masks at all times.
While this change may be challenging for some individuals we believe it will allow us to keep more students and staff safe and in school learning! We will continue to update you as guidance or conditions change.
